Fang Shen
Professor
Dr. Fang SHEN is a Professor of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics in SKLEC, East China Normal University. Her main expertise is ocean colour remote sensing in estuarine and coastal waters, aquatic optics, bio-optical measurements and modelling. Her important performance is about developing algorithms for satellite retrievals of chlorophyll-a and suspended particulate matter concentrations in turbid coastal waters. Currently, her interests expand to remote sensing of Harmful Algal Blooms, Phytoplankton Functional Type, POC and DOC. She has been a PI and Participant of more than 30 research projects and published more than 50 peers-reviewed papers in Journals. She undertaook the ESA-MOST Dragon-3 programme "Variations of Estuarine Turbid Plumes and Mudflats in Response to Human Activities and Climate Change"(2012-2016), id:10555, as Chinese PI., and is undertaking the China-Belgium govermental bilateral project "Hyperspectral and multi-mission high resolution optical remote sensing of aquatic environments" (2016-2019, as a PI. She was invited guest lecturer of ESA-MOST Dragon-2/-3 Programme Advanced Training Course in Ocean Remote Sensing (2011, 2013).
