Employment opportunities for marine technicians and instrument developers at the SKLEC-NIVA Centre
SKLEC-NIVA Centre is a joint international research laboratory set up by State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC) at East China Normal University (ECNU) and Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA). The Centre is led by Professor Richard Bellerby, a ‘Thousand Talents Plan’ expert. Both the Chinese and Norwegian sides provide investment, personnel and equipment for the Centre and cooperate on coastal and marine research on marine biogeochemistry and ecosystems under climate and environmental change.
Positions for 2 technicians/engineers at the SKLEC-NIVA laboratory are available:
Position 1-- Marine biogeochemical and biological instrument technician/engineer
Requirements include: relevant experience in biogeochemistry or biological instrumentation, experience in the operation and preferably the development of instruments, competent computer programming and data-handling.
Position 2—Marine instrument developer
Requirements include: experience in the operation and development of sensors for environmental and/or biological monitoring, competent computer and sensor programming capability, experience with responsibility for marine operations is an advantage.
The successful candidates will be employed at SKLEC. The annual gross salary is negotiable depending on experience, including tax and social security.
The working location is at State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, 3663 North Zhongshan Road, Putuo District, Shanghai, China.
