Description
NIVA presents up-to-date information about the weather and water in the Oslo Fjord, measured at our marine research station in the Drøbak Sound.
Water Quality in the Drøbak Sound
We make continuous measurements of water temperature and salinity at our marine research station at Solbergstrand in the Drøbak Sound.

The weather at Drøbak Sound
The weather station at our marine research registers:
wind direction and force
air temperature and felt air temperature
precipitation (in the past day, week or year)
humidity and air pressure
The information is updated every minute.
Information about lunar phase, sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moonset is also shown.
Data can be displayed in retrospective diagrams (past 24 hours, 7 days, 31 days) or up to the minute ("live"). Precipitation levels for the current year are also available. Please note that precipitation in the form of snow is not measured.
Temperature highs/lows and wind data are reset at midnight. Yearly precipitation is reset on January 1st at 00:00 every year. Monthly precipitation is reset every first day of the month.
The accuracy of measurements is as follows:
Wind speed: ±0.3 m/s
Wind direction: ±3 °
Precipitation (rain): ±5 %
Temperature: ±0.3 °C
Please note that errors can occur in data from the weather station. All use of data is therefore the users own responsibility. NIVA can close down the weather station without prior warning.
